THE TOURISTIC SIDE OF BAZZARA: SENSORY WORKSHOPS AND COURSES FOR BEGINNERS OPEN TO ALL

Bazzara Academy welcomes tourists, coffee lovers and reporters from abroad who want to dive into the world of coffee by attending courses, sensory and roasting workshops for pros and beginners.

In the summer of 2021, while the wonderful Bazzara Lab was opening its doors and the pandemic restrictions were being lifted, the Bazzara Academy has begun welcoming numerous groups of trainees from Germany, Switzerland, Austria and the United States.

The attending experts, the simple enthusiasts, the novices and the journalists who wanted to explore and capture the renowned world of coffee “made-in-Trieste”, have chosen the authoritative training hub, motivated by the desire of approaching the world of coffee while being led by a professional trainer.

All the attendees declared themselves very happy with the experience in the satisfaction survey.

The two factors determining the success of this new project by Bazzara Espresso, aimed at offering a tailor-made experience to visitors and tourists, have been the Made in Italy know-how that Bazzara embodies at the highest levels, combined with two new types of courses designed by the director of the Academy, Sensory project manager and Q Grader Marco Bazzara.

In addition to the proposals aimed at the world of professionals, such as the prestigious Q Grader course held in September or the recently concluded SCA Foundation Camp, the training institution offers tailor-made courses whose program is agreed on in advance with the trainees according to their knowledge; and a course which is a “lean” version of the Sensory Master.

Both courses start with a general introduction on the coffee supply chain and on the reference context of the Bazzara Academy. The tailor-made course offers then a technical but simplified approach to tasting, examined step by step in theory but also in practice; while the revisited Sensory Master course focuses more on sensory evaluation by training the sense of smell to perceive the world of aromas through a professional approach, followed by a tasting phase of one or more espresso coffees prepared to perfection by using cutting-edge machines and carefully selected coffees.

Other educational and experiential activities are, of course, available on  request. These are to be agreed with the management of the Bazzara Academy, whose courses range from professional modules on green coffee to roasting workshops.

The headquarters of Bazzara Espresso, whose third floor houses the Academy, is located in one of the most beautiful Art Nouveau buildings in the city. The location has therefore an interesting potential also from an experiential and touristic point of view. It offers the possibility of creating sensorial workshops and courses for beginners who are just approaching the world of coffee in the centre of Trieste.
