Q Arabica Combo Training and Exam Course
A Q Arabica Grader is a highly trained and calibrated coffee taster who evaluates coffee using SCAA cupping standards and protocols.

Coffee Quality Institute’s Q Coffee System is an internationally recognized program for evaluating cup quality based on a standardized system for Arabica coffee using protocols developed by the SCA (Specialty Coffee Association).

The Q Arabica Grader course in its version 4.2 consists of two complementary parts. The first is a 3-day theory of all activities, and the second part is dedicated to a 3-day series of exams regarding the material presented. There is a total of 19 different exams taken during the course. The purpose of the exams is to evaluate the cuppers in their overall cupping skills and its ability to evaluate specialty coffees.

The course includes various activities to test the cuppers’ skills in evaluating a coffee in a traditional cupping format, olfactory senses, green coffee grading, acid identification, basic cupping skill evaluations, sensory skills tests, and roasted coffee tests.

Students who pass the 19 exams during the week will receive a Q Grader certificate, valid for 3 years.

Review

... it's a bit like saying that behind a great man there is always a great woman ... just as behind a great course there is always a great organization made up of people behind the scenes make sure that everything is perfectly fluid and organized in the right time. Nothing was left to chance, breakfast in the morning with fresh croissants and cafeteria, biscuits and fruit present at each break. Lunch break organized on the basis of the needs of the students, and all done in no time (also because the lunch break has always been made in a rush to leave more space for the course). I think the Bazzara staff should be given a very special thanks for the hours worked, the commitment, the welcome, the courtesy, the availability and last but not least, for their always bright smile on their lips. Really congratulations Mengqi, Noemi, Tiziano and Andrea for all that you have done. - Andrea Guerra • Roaster

I can only tell you that you have been flawless. It is very interesting for me to be able to enter your offices and your splendid academy: not only in form (light and space are the masters), but also for the beautiful people who work there. You have been helpful and professional. In different forms, it also happens to me sometimes to carry out similar tasks, and if possible, I also learned from you. Punctual, kind and smiling ... what more do you want ?! I renew my thanks for your kind hospitality, and I will certainly welcome your invitation soon. - White Male • Q-Grader

With regards to my thoughts in terms of your contribution towards Q grader organization, I really could notice how hard all of you worked and I could tell it was not only intense for us but for you all too. The level of courtesy you all hold cannot go unnoticed. Academy is super clean and everyone made sure we had everything this does not only come down to necessary material for Q-grader but also food, drinks, pastries, I am pretty sure I gained a few pounds - Deandra Gauci

I congratulate you on the welcome and the great support of the entire Bazzara team who managed a demanding course like the Q-grader with great professionalism and made sure that the week, although very intense and demanding, it took place in a friendly and stimulating atmosphere. A hug to all of you! - Alenka Obad • Raw Food
